Sophia K. Alcorn of Kentucky developed a method to teach oral speech to people who were deaf and blind, and Inis Hall introduced it at Perkins. I applied this method and explained how Keller learned to speak. Keller placed her fingers against my lips, throat, and nose, to feel the vibration made when this familiar letter was spoken aloud.
